The Platone desk was designed to be presented as a set with the Plia chair. It is also held in the permanent collection of the MoMa in NYC. Its ingenious three-disc mechanism, a signature feature of Piretti’s bestsellers, reaches its boldest expression in the Platone.
The white top is a perfect match with the bold design of this little table, with the metal structure sustaining the table on one side. Platone is built to last and integrates seamlessly into any modern or vintage interior.
This stylish desk could function perfectly in a modern or midcentury style children's room or office.

Italian interior and industrial designer Giancarlo Piretti was born in 1940 in Bologna. He obtained his teaching degree in drawing at the Art Institute of Bologna (dates unknown), and continued his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna in 1960. From 1963 until 1970, he taught interior design at the Art Institute of Bologna.
Sometime in the 1960s, Piretti also joined Italian design company Castelli as an interior designer, creating home furniture and office furnishings. During his twelve years at Castelli, Piretti obtained numerous industrial patents for his designs, which were mostly chairs. Piretti’s work for Castelli garnered the company an international reputation in furniture design. His most well-known design is the plastic folding Plia Chair (1968), which has sold over seven million copies since 1969 and is still in production. It won the BIO 5 distinction and the SMAU prize at the Ljubljana Biennial in 1971, Germany’s Gute Form prize in 1973, and can be found in permanent collections in various museums world-wide, including Austria, Czech Republic, Slovenia and the United States. In 1969 the complementary Plia Table...

Italian Modern Mirrored Stereo Headboard Suede King Bed & Nightstands by Verardo
By Verardo
Located in Chattanooga, TN
Your eyes don't deceive you, that is in fact burgundy suede, chrome and gold tinted mirrored bed with stereo, 8-track, phone and ashtray. Although the phone and 8-track are not in working order, the radio-tuner stereo performs beautifully. Elements of MCM, space-age and post-modern design coalesce. If that's not enough mind bending 70's magic for you, it also lights up. That's right, you can actually set the cinematic mood with with assorted types of light. We upgraded the vintage bulbs with LED, so the light is brighter, safer and more efficient. A panel of buttons allow you full control. Push one to illuminate the Lucite pedestals from inside. Click another to control the eyeball lights that are recessed inside the arch. The lights can be singular or combined. This ultra modern and super rare bed was Made by Verardo in Italy, circa 1970's. Covered head to toe in red suede, this sultry and sinuous bed features bedside tables with chrome pulls and a gold / brass metal plinth base that elevates the design to even greater adventurous heights. The two suede nightstands...

Pair Vintage Cassina Le Corbusier, Perriand and Jeanneret LC2 Leather Armchairs
By Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, Charlotte Perriand Cassina, Cassina
Located in Highclere, Newbury
A pair of vintage original Le Corbusier, Perriand and Jeanneret LC2 Chrome and Ivory Leather lounge chairs for Cassina with labelled upholstery and serial numbers. The price shown is for both chairs.
The LC2 chair, designed in 1928 by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, and Charlotte Perriand, is a key piece in the evolution of modernist furniture. Originally part of a series created for the Villa Church (a private residence for a client in the Paris suburb of Ville-d'Avray), the LC2 epitomizes the collaborative spirit of the three designers. Its tubular steel frame and free form cushions marked a break from traditional designs, combining minimalist form with unexpected comfort. It was first presented in 1929 at the Salon d'Automne in Paris as part of a collection that would later be called the Equipement Interieur d’une Habitation (Interior Equipment for a Living).
Alongside the LC2, the trio designed other iconic pieces, such as the LC1 Sling Chair, the LC3 Sofa, and the LC4 Chaise Longue. The LC4, in particular, is often considered one of the most innovative pieces in the collection, with its curved steel frame and adjustable reclining mechanism it was not just a chair, but a piece of furniture designed to enhance relaxation. As such it became a symbol of the modernist ideal—furniture that was as much about living comfortably as it was about making a design statement.
The LC designs were created not just as individual works but as a broader vision for modern interiors, where furniture wasn’t just decorative but integrated into the living environment, serving both aesthetic and functional purposes. While the LC2 chair was part of this vision for the Villa Church, it wasn't designed specifically for that one space; rather, it was a part of an overall shift towards modernist furniture that transcended any one project.
When compared to the Bauhaus metal chairs...
