Large and impressive, hand carved and demountable bench with five bear sculptures.
This superbly hand carved bench is entirely made of solid wood and therefor too this stunning and highly decorative antique is as strong and stable as the day it was it was made. We cannot single out one detail that is more special than others, because the standing bear sculptures with their original glass eyes, the fun loving trio of bears(also with the glass eyes) in the back rest as well as the strikingly carved seat all are of the same, great artisanship and all parts together create a Black Forest bench that is an absolute joy to own, to use and to look at. The two smaller bears are clearly taking a breather and in their relaxing mode it is almost as if they are inviting you to do the same. The incredibly well carved branches that together make the frame of the wide seat of this unique bench are as good as you would wish to find them and they too make this unique Black Forest chair the impressive and rare antique that it is. For a bench of this age to still be in such good condition is like the proverbial icing on the cake. The design and the good feel that this Black Forest bench radiates will make you want to look at this antique time and again. This hand carved and entirely handcrafted antique also has a beautiful patina and it radiates nothing but quality, stability and durability. On top of all of that, this also is one very fine and comfortable bench to sit in. However, a bench like this will also look great purely as a decorative work of art. One that, in time, will only go up in value.
