About the Item
Every piece is designed by siblings Matt Swilley and Alex Brewster and handmade from solid 316 marine-grade stainless steel — the same material used on yachts. No tubing, no shortcuts, with 30 hours of handwork in each piece. These works are built to endure salt air, sun, and decades of use without compromise and heavy enough that they won’t blow away. They hold their own as collectible design — rooted in historical diamond lattice from architecture alongside modern motifs that are unmistakably Atelier Artizan. Each piece is signed, dated, and delivered with a certificate of authenticity, ensuring it will live as a family heirloom for generations.
Our collection includes three lattice patterns and 14 finishes, from architectural powder coat and hand-patterned patinas to our signature hand-carved stainless steel. Upholstery is available in virtually any indoor or outdoor performance fabric, and COM (Customer’s Own Material) is always welcome if you're familiar. Don’t hesitate to reach out — we can help you source the right fabric and finish to match your style.
Lead times are typically six months, though we can sometimes accommodate rushed requests. We also offer custom sizing within the line and select commissions for both interiors and exteriors. Send us your ideas in how you see our line being iterated. We have 3D files for every piece if you'd like to render into your designs.
Atelier Artizan was founded on the belief that outdoor furniture deserves the same level of intention and permanence as interiors. Our work carries echoes of European outdoor wrought iron classics and the sculptural lineage of Giacometti, while being made here in the USA from marine-grade stainless steel. This is handmade outdoor furniture, crafted in America, designed to be both functional and enduring — sculptural objects worthy of investment.

We also have many off-catalog SKUs.
We charge a small fee in addition to list price to sew upholstery for foam and labor and are here to provide these quotes.
