Italian 18th Century Louis XVI Period Patinated Wood And Giltwood Bench

About the Item

An elegant and large scaled Italian 18th century Louis XVI period Patinated wood and Giltwood bench. This beautiful bench which is decorated on three sides is patinated with an off white finish and giltwood accents. The bench is raised by eight square tapered Giltwood fluted legs. The top of each leg is decorated with a carved acanthus leaf design. The straight front apron is decorated by recessed central panels with ribbon and foliate Giltwood carvings on an off white background. These decorative recessed panels are flanked by recessed blocks with Giltwood carved rosettes. The side aprons have central carved rosettes flanked by laurel vines on each side.
