Vintage Piano Bench by Tonkbench of Chicago, Illinois, circa 1940s. Features a walnut frame with Matchbook veneered top. The lid of the bench lifts up for storage of sheet music. Legs octagonal shaped and tapered to a brass foot.
Tonk Manufacturing company was founded in 1873 by Max Tonk, a wood carver. They manufactured piano stools and benches until 1950 and other furniture until 1961.
