Original Hand Painted Pine 19th Century Bench With Storage, Hungary

About the Item

Antique hand painted pine bench embellished with traditional Eastern European folk art painting with blue background and red flowers. Bench seat opens to reveal two painted trees and interior storage. Base can open as it was originally used as a type of spare bed (seat is removable but firm, strong and stable as a seat). Restored, strong and ready for use. Can sit on bench which is just over 6' long; ready for use. Waxed finish. Old cracks (seen along front and seats), aged separations, nicks, dried old wormholes, stains, scratches(throughout), gouges, distress/wear to painted finish are visible throughout but do not impact function.
