19th Century Rococo Style Wide Marquise Chair

About the Item

This exquisite antique chair is a French Louis XV style ‘Bergère Marquise’ in the Rococo tradition, dating from circa 1890-1900. The chair is meticulously crafted from gilded wood, showcasing intricate carvings that epitomize the elegance and grandeur of the period. It is upholstered in a soft, duck-egg blue fabric, which complements the opulent design. The chair is in very good, unrestored condition, though the fabric may need replacing to restore its original splendor. This piece originates from the Paris area and embodies the refined artistry of French craftsmanship from the late 19th to early 20th century.
