About the Item
Antique French Louis XVI Painted Canape ~ Chair and a Half is the perfect choice for comfortable reading, a cozy seating group, or as a decorative accent for occasional use! The rounded sides envelope one in comfort, all fully upholstered, and framed by a neoclassical architecture embellished with hand-carved foliates, florals and spiral ribbon trim. Rosettes appear at various junctures, and the armrests boast acanthus plume carvings above and at the base. Tapered & fluted legs all around provide support, with the entire apron adorned with the spiral ribbon trim motif. The rounded form makes it very compatible with most any space, and eliminates sharp edges. Recently upholstered in quality fabric, it is ready for the final touch to coordinate with your decor, whether it be gimp or piping.
