Pair Antique French Louis XVI Painted Bergeres ~ Armchairs
About the Item
Pair Antique French Louis XVI Painted Bergeres ~ Armchairs are upholstered in luxurious mohair for long lasting beauty and comfort your family will enjoy for decades! Hand-carved solid fruitwood frames include a subtly arched seat back crown flanked by "wingbacks" that transition gracefully into padded armrests. The generous seats are fitted with comfy cushions and framed with spiral ribbon trim, while the four tapered and fluted legs are connected at plinth blocks adorned with acanthus rosettes. Spiral ribbon is the presiding trim theme all across the frame, culminating in a floral spray at the seat back top. The frame has also been given a painted finish that has achieved a lovely state of patina over the decades. The plum colored mohair, considered the best of the best, is icing on the case!
