About the Item
This pair of French early 19th century Bergere chairs are unusual in that they are of a neater size and proportion than their larger counterparts which allows them to be used in more places. The chairs have a classic hand carved design with Louis XVI detailing of rosette decoration and reeded legs and are comfortable to sit in. They have an original patina of antiqued, old white and overall feel very solid. The chairs have been stripped to the upholsterer's canvas cotton and are newly professionally upholstered in a performance animal print taupe, cream and fabric with coordinating gimp trim. Perfect for a cozy bedroom reading area or in a living room for comfortable, elegant seating.
