About the Item
A pair of Louis XVI style occasional painted bergère chairs from the early part of the 20th century. This pair of Louis XVI style armchairs from France each feature a loose down filled cushions, rectangular-shaped back with a slightly curved and carved top-rail and back frame. Arms rests have manchette padding and terminate into tightly scrolled knuckles adorn with acanthus leaves. The skirt follows the same linear lines as the top, with rosettes embellishing each corner at knee. The chairs are presented upon four rounded and flute-carved legs, which gently taper towards their feet. This pair of Louis XVI style French bergère chairs have been newly upholstered in neutral linen.
