About the Item

A French Louis XVI style giltwood canapé en corbeille from the 19th century, with carved flowers and new upholstery. Created in France during the 19th century, this gilded canapé features a wraparound back topped with carved flowers, while two gracefully curving arms with scrolled knuckles are partially upholstered on the top. Showcasing a custom cushion and a neutral toned double welt fabric, the canapé is raised on six twisted fluted legs with carved rosettes on the knees. Boasting a nicely weathered appearance, this 19th century Louis XVI style canapé en corbeille will bring a touch of Classicism to any living room or bedroom.
