19th Century Black Lacquered Elm Chinese Officials Hat Yoke Back chair
About the Item
A late 18th-early 19th century black lacquered elm Chinese hat chair. Intricate carvings of traditional Chinese motif decorate the back splat of the chair, with graceful serpentine-like curves adorning the arm and back. Raised on an apron framed front legs, united by stretchers.
Displaying a rich patina throughout with sympathetic wear to the original lacquered finish.
