This is an antique embroidered side chair. An English, mahogany hall or morning room seat in the manner of Chippendale, dating to the Georgian period, circa 1800.

Dashing lyre back presented beneath the top rail with its distinctive 'Chippendale ears’
Traditionally stuffed needlepoint cushion hosts a phoenix amongst floral motif
Standing upon square legs at the front, the gently splayed rears cascade from the top rail
Legs united by a H-stretcher within the tapering profile
