This is an antique embroidered side chair. An English, mahogany hall or morning room seat in the manner of Chippendale, dating to the Georgian period, circa 1800. Attractive Georgian example of Chippendale taste Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order Select stocks present fine grain interest and rich caramel hues Drop-in seat with a quality, embroidered covering Dashing lyre back presented beneath the top rail with its distinctive 'Chippendale ears’ Traditionally stuffed needlepoint cushion hosts a phoenix amongst floral motif Standing upon square legs at the front, the gently splayed rears cascade from the top rail Legs united by a H-stretcher within the tapering profile This is an appealing embroidered side chair, with Chippendale overtones and attractive colour. Ready to be enjoyed as is, or suitable for reupholstering to individual taste. Solid joints and construction, delivered ready for the home.
