This is an antique morning room chair. An English, rosewood and embroidered silk cotton side seat, dating to the William IV period, circa 1835. Exquisite upholstery over a beautifully crafted frame Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order Select stocks present fine grain interest and rich caramel hues Traditionally stuffed drop-in seat at a comfortable height of 38.5cm (15.25'') Striking crest rail with a plume of feathers form issuing broad scrolled mounts Distinctive trapezoid carved ears host excellent turned finials Padded dome topped back rest framed with a pair of superb barley twist supports Lower rail unites the frame with a repeat of the scrolled motif Benefits from a professional reupholstering in a fine embroidered textile Delightful carnations set within a diamond pattern with pink and golden hues Alternating blue and red weave adorns the golden cushion edge trimming Standing upon a pair of excellent gadrooned front legs, the distinctive rears in loose cabriole form This is an exceptional antique morning room chair, with a beautiful appearance to the quality upholstery and attractive frame.
