Vittorio Valabrega chair, lacquered wood, 1930s, Italy
This elegant chair from the 1930s, designed by Vittorio Valabrega, reflects the refined lines and bold character of Italian Art Deco furniture design. Crafted from lacquered wood, it features a sculptural curved backrest and a contoured seat with beautiful grain. The strong geometric structure highlight Valabrega’s balance between form and function. Subtle signs of age add authenticity to this timeless piece.
Vittorio Valabrega (1861–1952) is an Italian furniture designer. He opened the "Valabrega Brothers" company in 1884. It became known for the production of fine-quality liberty-style furniture. Vittorio Valabrega became the owner of the company in the mid-1890s. His furniture designs are known for using exclusive materials and fine craftsmanship. His son Ernesto Valabrega followed his father’s footsteps.
