Art Deco Walnut and Cotton Chairs, Restored

About the Item

Beautiful pair of wooden chairs designed and produced in the 1920s by a fine Italian manufacturer. The chairs have a supporting frame made entirely of light walnut wood, which has been very well maintained. The supporting legs are 4 and have a square shape, which curves under the seat attachment, giving a unique comfort. The seat has been entirely reupholstered in a very elegant white cotton fabric, which creates a wonderful contrast with the dark wood. The fabric has been punched with very elegant iron nails. The backrest is very elegant; in fact, it follows the legs up to just above the seat, and then becomes a single block of wood, which provides unprecedented comfort. The high corners create a small geometric scaling, which is simply fine. These chairs are suitable for dining areas, but also offices as chairs for clients.

The supporting legs are straight and have over-the-top woodworking, creating inlets and curves in the wood, making them simply unique. The chisel mark is visible. The workmanship looks rough, but it is the African style that designs this way; its beauty comes from this. The legs are rounded, narrow in the center to open again into two wooden chalices...
