About the Item

A royal chair in Asante society It is a sign of power and prestige used exclusively by chiefs. The chair is made of a hand carved wood frame covered with hammered brass tacks and studs and leather seat. The chair looks beautiful as a sculptural piece in any room. The top leather seat is fractured but the supporting weaved leather underneath that provides the support it's not. A cushion covers the seat and laces down the feet of the chair. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Minor fading. The top leather seat is fractured but the supporting weaved leather underneath that provides the support it's not. (Please s images) A cushion has been added that covers the seat and interlaces down the feet of the chair. Some brass tacks missing.
