About the Item

Michel Cadestin and Georges Laurent Beaubourg chair, 1976 Steel and fabric. . The Beaubourg chair was designed by Richard Rogers and Renzo Piano and designed especially for the Center Pompidou in Paris. . The final shape was created by Cadestin and Laurent and chosen as the winning chair for the order by a jury chaired by Jean Prouvé. . The building, designed by Rogers and Piano, became one of the most important buildings of the late 20th century, ushering in deconstruction and postmodernism in architecture and design. . Tubular steel structure, seat and back in electro-galvanized steel wire mesh, receiving removable cushions, held by steel ferrules (missed), covered with cotton weaving, all resting on a so-called sleigh base. The backrest and the base are fixed by a nut system allowing the chair to be completely disassembled and reassembled. . The fabrics are a little stained and the steel ferrules to hold them are missing. . In vintage condition
