Bee Boo Bop Chair in Gypsum & Fiberglass by Brent Warr Studios

About the Item

The robotic form of this occasional chair is reflected in its name, the Bee Boo Bop Chair. Painted in a contemporary powder blue, this chair, which was inspired by 1950s & 60s post war Children's tin robot toys, the Bee Boo Bop chair explores the idea and aspects of play. Fantasy, fun, and fear comes to mind when we think of robots taking over, but the Bee Boo Bop chair isn’t going anywhere. Handcrafted in our Georgia, US studio, this side table is crafted from a wood base. The piece is then sculpted with a complex gypsum, pulp, and epoxy mix. After curing, the chair is sanded then a hand applied fiberglass layer coats the entire piece to add to durability and longevity. Brent Warr Studios founder Brent Warr was raised in Georgia, USA and studied at Auburn University’s college of Architecture, Design, and Construction. Before moving to the back to Georgia to start his furniture and lighting studio, he moved to NYC to work for esteemed Interior and Architecture firms Meyer Davis Studio and Yabu Pushelberg. Now located in Bainbridge, Georgia, Warr’s furniture, lighting, sculptures, and interiors projects are defined by a studied balance of fluidity and structure, composition and function. His practice is both intuitive and informed by an understanding of history, process, and materials. Above all, Warr’s guiding principles are humor and storytelling. Brent Warr has been featured in Interior Design Magazine, Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, and Vogue Living to name a few.
