About the Item
Inspired by Constantin Brancusi (1876-1957) who is credited as the father of modern art furniture and an important catalyst in the transition to modernism. Brancusi’s furniture featured simple, minimal designs that emphasized asymmetry and sculptural lines. The upholstery was often absent from his chairs and couches, leaving the solid wood or metal frames exposed. This paired with the curves and angles of his designs establishes a sense of movement throughout his pieces.
