The Caquetoire Lord Chair by Brent Warr is a sculptural reimagining of a classic form rooted in 16th and 17th century French design. Historically known as the “gossip chair,” the caquetoire was a social anchor—designed for women to gather, sit comfortably, and engage in lively conversation. Brent Warr’s interpretation honors this legacy while infusing it with contemporary presence and bold materiality. With its commanding silhouette and expressive proportions, the Caquetoire Lord Chair functions as both seating and sculptural centerpiece—ideal for interiors that embrace history, storytelling, and collectible design.
Brent Warr Studios founder Brent Warr was raised in Georgia, USA and studied at Auburn University’s college of Architecture, Design, and Construction. Before moving to the back to Georgia to start his furniture and lighting studio, he moved to NYC to work for esteemed Interior and Architecture firms Meyer Davis Studio and Yabu Pushelberg.
Now located in Bainbridge, Georgia, Warr’s furniture, lighting, sculptures, and interiors projects are defined by a studied balance of fluidity and structure, composition and function. His practice is both intuitive and informed by an understanding of history, process, and materials. Above all, Warr’s guiding principles are humor and storytelling. Brent Warr has been featured in Interior Design Magazine, Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, and Vogue Living to name a few.
