Contemporary Chair in Brazilian Hardwood by Ricardo Graham Ferreira
About the Item
This contemporary chair is a three legged comfortable and elegant piece of fine crafted furniture, made in tropical Brazilian hardwood and natural fiber cord at the artist workshop.
Its uniqueness comes hand in hand with its simplicity and superb craftsmanship.
The shape of the backrest is created by a natural ramie cord, the tension of which is generated from a toggle stick that twists the cord under the seat, an elegant, simple and very effective solution.
Feet fits tightly on the seat with traditional wedged tenon joints. Wedges are made in precious black or light tropical hardwood.
The three legged chair shown are made on freijó wood ( brazilian walnut ) tropical hardwood.
Other wood types by request.
Chairs are signed and numbered.
Ricardo Graham Ferreira is a Brazilian woodworking artist who learned cabinet making in northern Italy and southern France.

Ricardo Graham Ferreira
Woodworking arrived as a joyful activity to the life of this Brazilian artist, born in Rio de Janeiro.
After graduating in Marketing and working with it, Ricardo Graham made an important decision in his life and gave him self a chance to learn what he has loved since a little kid, woodworking. In 2002 Ricardo went to Italy, more precisely to the Brianza region, where lived for 3 years learning woodworking in "the city of furniture making", Meda. After that obtained a higher degree in woodworking attending the École Supérieure d'Ébénisterie d’Avignon, a prestigious school located in Provence, south of France. His workshop, known as “oEbanista”, was established in 2006, and it's located at Nova Friburgo, a city found on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Regular production is on freijó wood ( shown here) or the ebonized version ( please ask for price for this specific finish).
By request, the three legged chair can be produced in other beautiful tropical wood types. Please, ask for quote. Notice that price and production lead time may rise.
