About the Item
This sculptural chair designed by Brazilian designer Henrique Canella consists of a structure in solid wood with ribbed seat and backrest, manufactured with fine woodworking techniques that don't require the use of nails and screws. Carbon steel bars in the backrest enable its flowing organic lines to be flexible and comfortable. This piece is finished with tung oil with Carnauba wax, which results in a beautiful satin surface that is waterproof and protected against scratches.
The depicted piece is the designer's P.A., immediately available, and there will be a limited edition of 100 units, all numbered. If made to order, small variations in wood color may occur. Please allow 5 weeks for production.

This lounge chair is an unique piece in pequi wood made in Brazil in 2017, by contemporary designer Hugo França, famous for his sculptural furniture using reclaimed wood and preserving the organic forms of the tree. This piece was originally a canoe manufactured by the Pataxó indigenous people, in south of Bahia, Brazil.
In the early 80s, Hugo França abandoned his previous career as an industrial engineer in São Paulo to be closer to nature, moving to Trancoso, Bahia. Witnessing from up-close the rampant destruction of the local Atlantic Forest greatly impacted him, motivating his current work as a designer.
