About the Item

Designed in 2015 by Rodrigo Simão, the “Feijão” chair pays homage to the award-winning designer’s country of origin not only in its name, “Feijão” – a landmark in the Brazilian menu, but also in its material. Simão's version of the traditional rocking chair shows the natural diversity of Brazil, being produced in different types of wood and metals. Produced in 2022 with corten steel and with the combination of industrial and artisanal techniques, "Feijão" features a surface without visible joints.

One-of-a-Kind Contemporary Aziza Easy Chair by Hugo França, Brazil 2017
By Hugo França
Located in Deerfield Beach, FL
This lounge chair is an unique piece in pequi wood made in Brazil in 2017, by contemporary designer Hugo França, famous for his sculptural furniture using reclaimed wood and preserving the organic forms of the tree. This piece was originally a canoe manufactured by the Pataxó indigenous people, in south of Bahia, Brazil. In the early 80s, Hugo França abandoned his previous career as an industrial engineer in São Paulo to be closer to nature, moving to Trancoso, Bahia. Witnessing from up-close the rampant destruction of the local Atlantic Forest greatly impacted him, motivating his current work as a designer. França reverences the very trees salvaged by him as his main inspiration; he works intuitively, allowing his creative process to be guided by each tree’s organic...

Brazilian Modern Armchair in Brown Leather & Iron, Carlo Hauner, 1950s, Brazil
By Carlo Hauner
Located in New York, NY
Available today, this Brazilian Modern armchair in brown leather & iron, by Carlo Hauner, in Brazil during the 1950s is one of a kind! The popular design (at the time) follows the same pattern as the also popular “Concha” armchairs from Carlo Hauner and features an intricate steel base with a soft curved, re-upholstered brown leather seat which is very comfortable.
