About the Item

This very comfortable antique ladder back child chair was crafted in Normandy, France circa 1940. Built of walnut wood and attributed to Charles Dudouyt, the chair sits on round turned legs and features two ladders in the back embellished with round finials at the top. The wide and deep seat is dressed with the original hand woven rush. The low country chair is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich walnut patina. This chair could also be used as a "Chauffeuse" next to a fireplace. Measures: 17.5" W x 16.5" D x 31.5" H.
