About the Item

Exceptional Swedish Folk Art Chair, ca1790 This chair is just love - like a sun with its intricate carvings and patina. It’s also a bit of a head-scratcher. Where is it from? Which part of Sweden? Similar chairs can be found in the south of Sweden, though they are mostly not made of pine like this one. So, I’m making a small guess that it might be from Härjedalen in Sweden. Then again, knowledgeable colleagues have suggested Blekinge, Skåne, Finland, and Härjedalen. However, it is truly stunning.
