Four Mid-Century Casalino Chairs in Jade Green, Alexander Begge, Casala, 1970s

About the Item

Amazign Casalino chairs after full renovation - new glossy jade green lacquer. Absolutely unique set. We can prepare this chairs in every RAL/Pantone color - also in bigger sets. About the designer: Alexander Begge was born in Germany in 1941. He trained in ceramics and designed the Casalino chairs in the 1970s while working at the Casala factory: “I didn’t make a single drawing for Casalino. I had the image of a fog bank and I worked on this idea. What a joy! I was in a trance. At the Casala factory where I worked, the siren sounded several times a day. When the siren sounded at the end of the day, I thought it was the coffee break. I had forgotten everything around me. They were an immediate success, and the publisher Casala produced them continuously until 1980. However, it was not until 2007 that the brand reissued the famous model. Alexander Begge never designed any other chairs and specialised in a completely different field: the manufacture of ovens. The Casalino chair is timeless: its soft curves and pop colours are timeless! The model can be found both indoors and outdoors, in adult and child versions. Why is it so successful? Simply because the Casalino seat is not only aesthetically pleasing, it is also functional as it is stackable and very shock resistant! Its multiple layers of colours even make it scratch resistant! If you are a frequent visitor to kindergarten and primary school classrooms and canteens, you will have already seen the Casalino Jr. chair. Here set of 4 is available.
