Norwegian Birch Burch Stump Chair ca 1930s
Extremely big stump chair, one of a kind!
The weight and size of this Norwegian kubbestol are something out of the ordinary. Its presence, sculptural qualities, and the way the organic knots and twists play beautifully with the light. The front is black and deep in color, and the back is brown with red tones in the surface, making this stunning in its natural self. Time and weather have transformed this into a mammoth of expression and simply organic art. Made in 1930 by hand, with axe and saw.
Truly the most amazing stump chair I have ever seen.
Made from one piece of burl Birch wood.
