Italian Mid-Century Silver Clam-Shell Grotto Chair

About the Item

An Italian carved wood grotto chair, in shell and dolphin motif, from the mid 20th century. This mid-century grotto chair from Italy is an ocean-themed piece with shell-carved backrest and seat (as if an open clamshell), dolphin arms, and four legs appearing as if they are sea grasses in movement rising up from the sea floor. Primary color is silver with some areas of gold, and a wonderful patina and aging throughout. This mid-century Italian grotto chair will be a wonderful accent piece, conjuring up sea-loving vibes and conversations.
