About the Item

Chairs designed by prof. Rajmund Halas. They have been made of beechwood. They have undergone a complete upholstery renovation, the woodwork has been refreshed. Seats were dressed in beige soft velvet. They are stabile and very shapely. Chairs were produced in former furniture factory in Goleniow in the 1960s. This is a part of "into the wild" collection. We can prepare sets of 2,4, 6 or more chairs too, also in another fabric and wood color. Please check the last pictures with color samples. About the fabric: Composition: 100% Solution dyed polypropylene This collection is a nod to Provence and the simple lifestyle in the bright and sunny South of France. An impromptu walk along an undiscovered footpath takes us through natural landscapes at a gentle pace, collecting warm local scents as we go. Touches of blue recall colourful iris fields, shades of flax, and the sun-aged stones of an 18th-century farmhouse, while the ochre yellow is reminiscent of the powdery pigments of Roussillon... Fine or broad bayadere stripes play with simplicity to create a background pattern that provides the soundtrack to this Provençal getaway. With the charm of never-ending holidays, the fabrics caress us with this unique South of France energy, which is more soothing than ever. With it soft, dry and delicate feel and its supple and elegant drape, this collection seems so natural, offering new perspectives on the outdoors and blurring even further the boundary with the indoors. Rajmund Teofil Hałas (born May 31, 1925 in Krobi, Wielkopolska, died November 4, 2008 in Poznań/Poland) - visual artist, architect, designer, teacher. In the mid-nineteenth century, the carpentry workshop was run by his great-grandfather, Jakub Węcławski. His heir was his son-in-law Franciszek Hałas, and then his son Teofil. The factory built by Teofil in 1922 in Krobi and employing several dozen workers was to be taken over by his sons Zygmunt and Rajmund Teofil. The plant supplied townspeople, local farmers and manors, among others in Pępowo, Gola, Pudliszki up to the palace of the princes Czartoryski in Rokosowo and many others. He exported furniture to Vienna and Berlin. In 1939, after the outbreak of World War II, 14-year-old Rajmund Teofil started working in his father's factory, taken over by a local German, Fritz Fogt. From September 1945, he continued his education at the Carpentry and Sculpting Gymnasium in Cieplice Zdrój. At that time, he passed the exam for a carpentry master in Wrocław. In 1951, he began studies at the PWSSP in Poznań at the Faculty of Interior Architecture, and he graduated in 1957, preparing a diploma thesis under the supervision of prof. Jerzy Staniszkis. He was buried in the churchyard of the parish of St. Jakub in Żabno near Mosina.
