About the Item

Very rare chair from the series of tubular steel spring chairs by egon eiermann. A rare collector's item. this design by eiermann is a hybrid. By adopting the spring mechanism of the backrest in a static work chair, it closes the gap between the simple se 68 multi-purpose chair and the se 40 office swivel chair. Like all of eiermann's furniture designs, the se 66 impresses with its objectivity and simple functionality. What is striking is the skeletal resolution of the backrest, which gives this design a special lightness and elegance. The springy backrest is responsible for additional comfort. The base is a simple 4-legged frame made of chrome-plated tubular steel. The special feature of this functional collector's item is the original covering made of dark plastic mesh. The chair is marked on the screw and under the chair. the chair is in good condition with signs of wear and patina. This piece has an attribution mark. design: egon eiermann, 1952 manufacturer: wilde + spieth model: se 66 Additional information: Materials: Metal, Plastic Color: Black Styles: Mid-Century Modern Period: 1950s Designer: Egon Eiermann Country of Origin: Germany Item Type: Vintage, Antique or Pre-owned Diamension: 18.11ʺW × 19.69ʺD × 31.5ʺH Seat Height: 18.9 in Condition: Good Condition, Some Imperfections Condition Notes: Patina Consistent with Age and Use
