This is a pair of antique morning room elbow chairs. An English, mahogany carver seat in Chippendale revival taste, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1890. Superb Chippendale revival taste and fine craftsmanship Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order Select stocks show fine grain interest and rich caramel hues Wonderful drop-in cushions in a tasteful cream colour Serpentine cresting rail, with broad 'Chippendale' ears Leading into a striking, pierced back splat with graceful fretwork Sinuous arms terminate in appealing scrolled knuckles Each arm raised upon a slender, S-curve support Quality, suede upholstery in good order, free of marks or loss Professionally reupholstered and traditionally stuffed cushioning Seat at a comfortable height of 46.5cm (18.25") Raised upon square section front legs, with a gently splayed pair to the rear Legs united by way of a double H stretcher This is a fantastic pair of antique morning room elbow chairs in the appealing manner of Chippendale.
