A beautiful pair of Scandinavian modern woven rope armchairs by Axel Larsson for Bodafors, Sweden, 1930s.
Oiled walnut frame and original seagrass rope.
The sculptural design makes the chairs a stunning attribution to both classic and modern interiors.

We specialise in fine works of original twentieth-century design with specific focus on Scandinavian design from the period 1930 to 1960. We procure items that have a history and/or have a particular aesthetic from the period.
Our collection represents some of the finest examples of craftsmanship, architecture, and high-grade design by the most renowned Scandinavian 20th Century designers including Hans J. Wegner, Arne Vodder, Arne Jacobsen, Finn Juhl, Poul Henningsen, Alvar Aalto, Paavo Tynell, Estrid Ericson, Poul Kjærholm, Mogens Lassen and Josef Frank.
We are extraordinarily passionate about Kaare Klint and have over the years gained a significant knowledge of his craftmanship and have included many beautiful Kaare Klint pieces in our inventory.

A rare pair Kaare Klint and the iconic “Mix Chairs”, mahogany frame, upholstered in Nigerian goat hide and brass nails.
Nigerian goat hide is very thick with natural patina, hence extremely durable due to its tight grain which with time gives the surface a beautiful sheen.

ABOUT
Kaare Klint – the father of Danish Furniture Design – was also a pioneer in teaching. As head of the Department of Furniture Design at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen (1923-1954), he organised the department more as an architectural office, where he has lecturer, not only gave good advice but also sat down with the students at the drawings boards.
