About the Item
A striking pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. giltwood Bergères à Oreilles. Each armchair is raised by circular tapered fluted legs below fine block rosettes. Extending along the frieze are impressive and wonderfully carved interlocking patterns centering a floral reserve in a satin and burnished finish. Each elegantly curved arm displays an upholstered arm rest while the back support displays a carved twisted ribbon band and fine floral carvings above.
