Pair of French iron architectural chairs, 1940s
About the Item
A wonderful pair of sculptural and architectural side chairs. They are beaten iron that seems to have been painted green in an earlier life. They have the most pleasing and interesting base with the line continuing into the back. The seats have been upholstered in a fun and textured woven fabric that is in keeping with the texture of the ironwork.
We believe these chairs are made by an accomplished metalworker with an eye for design, sadly we don't know who made them, but they are French and date from around 1940. The construction is top notch.
This pair of chairs would create an interior 'moment' with a table in an orangerie, conservatory, kitchen, hallway - anywhere!
They are useable and beautiful. The perfect pair!
