Postmodern chair of the Dutch company Harvink after a draft by Ruud Jan Kokke from the 90s
A postmodern design that plays with shape and materiality. The simple frame of the chair consists of silver -colored coated tube. The striking detail of this design lies in the shells for backrest and seat. Ruud Jan Kokke uses a mimetic design practice by portraying leather and elements of leather processing as a quote in wood. This includes the resolution of the wood into straps, which seem to be lying around the pipes of the frame. Furthermore, a concave execution of the areas that suggest a stretch and flexibility of leather. The areas are made of beech panel. The possibilities of the material are fully exploited by Kokke. Official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs, designer records.
