Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee coronation peers chairs set of four 1952–1977 Rare William Hands set of four 1952-1977 Silver Jubilee Anniversary edition Queen Elizabeth II Peers chairs as used in Westminster Abbey for the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1977, with Limed oak frames and Royal Blue velvet upholstery finished with gold braid banding with the Queens Royal Crest in the top left corner of each chair, the chairs are sequentially serial numbered with numbers 1795, 1796, 1797 and 1798 These chairs were made in tribute to the originals as used in Westminster Abbey for the Peers to sit and observe the coronation. The chairs were made by William Hands of High Wycombe, William Hands process starts with a single sheet of white paper, every mark a statement, every thought witnessed, every stroke adding meaning to a moment in time. Condition Report: The chairs offered in good used original condition, minor scuff marks to frames, fabric lightly faded, some of the braiding is worn, no odours or smells, each chair stamped and numbered with William Hand plaques, one chair has a loose joint to the back legs with slight wobble and mark to back leg, we will send this to our restorer to see if it can be rectified, all in all a beautiful set with wonderful age and patina.
