Rare 18th Century Hand-Crafted Metamorphic Savonarola Prayer Chair "Prie-Dieu"
About the Item
Interesting & rare 19th.c. Metamorphic prayer chair, sometimes known as ‘Prie-dieu‘. Hinging the chair back on the front of the arms transforms the chair into a raised kneeling stand, traditionally used in private worship. Solid mahogany frame with carved detail to the sides of the chair back. Excellent original condition with clean upholstery
