About the Item

Rare pair of Arts and Crafts chairs by German architect and designer Richard Riemerschmid (1868 – 1957). These pieces exhibit superb craftsmanship and show signs of wear that proclaim authenticity. These chairs were designed in 1902 and manufactured by the Deutche Werkstatten fur Handwerkskunst, Dresden. The artfully tapered "kick-in" legs with a curve at the base are a design highlight.
