About the Item
This charming chair in solid rosewood was designed by the Italian-born furniture designer Carlo Benvenuto Fongaro (1915-1986) in the 1950s.

In several companies, such as Ambiente and Probjeto, he also created furniture for homes, where he used some materials that identified with the local culture, such as natural fibers.
This chair comprises turned solid wood with fantastic fittings and impressive construction. The seating rests over a crossed base, and all piece shows gorgeous tones of rosewood.

Vintage Rosewood Armchair by Celina Decorações, Brazilian Midcentury, 1960s
By Celina Decoracoes
Located in New York, NY
This armchair is made of solid Brazilian Rosewood, with new upholstery in gorgeous suede leather. The armrests have a rectangular design with a back of vertical slats. This model features a delicate and still well-constructed use of this precious wood, which became very scarce with the passage of the years.
This piece received new upholstery in soft nubuck leather, but its structure in solid Rosewood remais in original condition.
Based in Rio de Janeiro, the Celina Decorações factory imposed high-quality standards, maintaining handcrafted characteristics. The company was created in 1951 when Munis Zilberberg takes over the family business - a small upholstery workshop that worked on refurbishing sofa beds and antique furniture. The name is a tribute to her mother, Celina Zilberberg...
