About the Item
Collaborates with Brazilian designers Estudio Campana on the creation of a chair. The “Bacana” chair is the first Campana’s project industrially developed using 100% recyclable polypropylene, known for its durability and resistance. Its twisted design spreads freedom and anarchy in large scale. The winding curves and tangled knots of plastic is a reference to the studio’s ethereal, youthful, dynamic language. “Bacana”, which in Portuguese slang means “cool”, perfectly translates the Campana’s vocabulary while using minimum quantities of material, establishing a new standard for sustainable design and mass production. Available in various colors for outdoor use.
Injection-moulded thermoplastic technopolymer seat with powder-coated steel frame treated with catahphoresis surface coating. Low density polyethylene spacers included. Stackable up to 5 pieces. Seat, backrest and armrests resistance to fatigue and load tested according to UNI EN standards.
Co-founded in 1984 by brothers Fernando and Humberto Campana, the Estúdio Campana has achieved international recognition for its furniture design. Their creative process raises everyday materials to nobility, bringing Brazilian characteristics - the colors, the mixtures, the creative chaos, the triumph of simple solutions - poetically. Based in São Paulo, their practice investigates new possibilities within product design, architecture, landscaping, fashion, and more. Bridging disciplines and encouraging the exchange of expertise among communities and artists are vital sources of inspiration and free-thinking. Working with multiple brands and industries allows the studio to combine the best of craftsmanship, sustainable production practices, and state-of-the-art technologies.
