Set of 3 Industrial Metal Bistro Armchairs by Rene Malaval, France, 1950 Vintage Design Rare René Malaval armchairs René Malaval, a welder by trade, had the idea of recycling the sheet metal plates discarded following the perforation process for the manufacture of ammunition bases during the Second World War. Thus, from 1945, he manufactured seats from this recycling, with an immediately recognizable style, which had become iconic.
