About the Item
This gorgeous and absolutely rare set of 4 chairs was designed by famous Norwegian designer Torbjørn Afdal, and made most probably by Bruksbo manufacture. It is known as model "Elton". The chairs are in fantastic original condition, wooden elements were gently cleaned and refreshed (original oil finish), the original leather upholstery is in very good original condition. The beautifully shaped frame is made of solid wood deep in color and has an impressive wood grain that combines elegantly with the cognac-colored leather upholstery. The chairs are a beautiful example of simple and elegant Scandinavian Design yet still very comfortable and practical.

Torbjørn Afdal
Torbjørn Afdal was one of the leading designers at Bruksbo Tegnekontor and in Scandinavia. Afdal became more well known when his furniture was bought by US first lady Jacqueline Kennedy and by the Japanese Emperor. In later years, he was granted the commission to design the parliamentary and chairs and tables to the courthouse in Oslo.
