About the Item

These Cane Chairs made in solid Rosewood were produced by Cantù Móveis e Interiores Ltda. in the 1960s. The pieces are composed of solid Rosewood structure that explores different material shapes. Seats and backs have straight cuts, while the basic structure has rounded finishes. Seats and backrests are single volumes made of cane, touching the legs in two small sculpted fittings made of Rosewood. Architects Jorge Jabour Mauad and Osires Cunha Meale were responsible for designing the furniture of Cantù Móveis e Interiores Ltda. This production represents a vast production of Brazilian furniture designed by architects and manufactured by small companies in the 1960s. The specialists were responsible for conducting studies and projects for interior installations, using Brazilian Rosewood, marble, leathers, and national fabrics in its manufacture. This set is composed of eight chairs in their original condition. Wood and cane restoration by our Workshop is included.
