About the Item
A set of four 19th century Swedish Late Gustavian Ax (also known as Vase) chairs from Lindome featuring a balloon-shaped back with five vertical, interconnected slats. In the center, five ears of wheat form a bouquet on the crest that fan outward. A floral and leaf design horizontally spans the front of the base. Sits atop turned, tapered and fluted legs. Made with H-cross construction. Meticulously scraped to remnants of its original paint. The original slip seat has been reupholstered in fabric. Older reinforcements on the back of some of the vertical slats.
