About the Item
Vintage hand carved African Baule Tribal yoke back low chair. Vintage hand carved African Baule Triball chair. Low chairs such as this were carried on the shoulders of village men as they went to attend social gatherings or community rituals in the Baule Tribe, circa Late 19th to Mid-20th Century.
The back of the chair measures approximately 24" high (the seat portion is 10 1/2" off the ground), 18" wide and 15" deep
