A Vintage Leather Chair
About the Item
A timeless leather lounge chair from Denmark -the Model 2214 designed by Børge Mogenson in 1962 and produced by Fredericia. This chair has a rich, chocolate brown coloring that pairs immaculately with the teak wood legs. The highly patinated leather is supple, yet without tears or excessive abrasions. Mogensen was one of the most influential designers in shaping Danish Modern design and Fredericia’s founding designer for over 20 years. Mogensen experimented with plywood shells and merged aspects of the global modernist movement with his own design identity. He found inspiration in ethnic arts & crafts, lithography and Japanese wooden carvings. This chair is elemental and honest, a sturdy and well-made Danish design. Suitable for a modern office, library, or as an accent chair in almost any room.
