20th Century Chaise Lounge, le Surrepos du Docteur Pascaud

This chaise lounge is called le surrepos du Docteur Pascaud, France 1925, natural beech, iron, upholstered and covered with white leather, wooden wheel for adjusting the backrest and seat.
This mechanical chaise lounge was an inspiration for Le Corbusier and Charlotte Perriand when they worked on their idea of creating a continuously adjustable chaise lounge, which eventually resulted in their famous "Chaise lounge basculante" made of tubular steel.
