About the Item

Contemporary 3D-Printed "Trés Chaise Longue" by International Barcelona-Based Lagranja Studio. Limited Edition of 3. The "Trés Chaise Longue" embodies the future and the use of cutting-edge technologies. This unique piece was born from the desire to repurpose the disposable scaffolding used in 3D printing, resulting in a chaise longue that is pure support without any separate parts. Large in scale, it is 3D-printed with a blend of PLA pellets and 40% cellulose, giving it a distinctive finish that makes it worthy of a museum collection. Founded in 2002, Lagranja is a multidisciplinary design firm primarily focused on creating interiors and products. At Lagranja, design is driven by ideas and strategies, not trends. "We don't approach a project with a predetermined list of do's and don'ts. We believe that every project is unique and must be approached in its own way. We strive to understand the context, ask ourselves and our clients many questions, strategize, and then find the right tools and team to bring the project to life.

Una 'Articolo Indeterminativo' Wood Chaise Longue
By Stefano Marolla
Located in Roma, IT
The chaise longue is the third piece of the collection Una (Articolo Indeterminativo) by Stefano Marolla. The name of the collection comes from the Italian grammar where the indeterminative article precedes a non-identified noun. The objects play on the ambiguity of the matter than can deceive the eye: a sturdy element like wood, hand-curved and levigated, looks like a light tapestry. The curves and the soft drapery of the wood are inspired by a long and attentive study on the usage of drapery in art’s history, going back from the ancient Greece to Bernini’s sculptures...
